Seattle. Hansen Design Company has worked closely with Make the Dash Count Foundation since its inception three years ago to create its corporate identity, business papers, marketing collateral and a series of wine labels for its private winery, Heaven’s Cave Cellars. All proceeds from the sale of the winery’s special offerings go to support the mission of the foundation: to impact the lives of children in need through a process of educating and inspiring the next generation of philanthropists. To celebrate this festive time of year, Heaven’s Cave Cellars is releasing the newest member of its DASH Wine Family – Icicles. A true ice wine, Icicles was created just for special occasions. The concept behind Make the Dash Count grew out of the passion and inspiration of founder, Hope Moore who, during a period of extreme loss, was struck by the significance of what appears on gravestones at the end of a life: "Our whole life, and what we did with it, is represented merely by the dash" between our dates of birth and death. She resolved to "make her dash count", and to help others do the same. Funding from the foundation, fueled by sales of the DASH wines, is allocated annually according to the decisions made by a council of youth from 14 to 18 years of age. With the guidance of experienced advisors, they are nurtured, educated and given the opportunity to personally experience philanthropy. |
